Hi, I’m Miriam and I’m a Certified MindBody Practitioner and Coach with my own history of chronic pain.
I’ve had sciatica, shoulder pain, nerve pain in both my arms, and a range of fibromyalgia symptoms. I had to quit all my leisure activities as well as my job, because it hurt too much to sit down and type (and it also hurt too much if I walked or did any sort of exercise!)
Luckily, I stumbled upon the mindbody connection thanks to a random Google search… jokingly, I like to say that Google saved my life!
In a matter of weeks, I learnt that my pain was due to the way I had been perceiving both my symptoms and the world around me.
While it had all started with a minor injury, several factors led to my brain being unable to ‘let go’ of that injury. Not only that, but the pain started to spread to my entire body!
As I learnt new techniques to calm my brain and stop the pain from taking over, I started experiencing immediate improvement. Within 6 weeks I was practically pain free and returned to my favourite activity - rock climbing.
Today, I lead an active life, knowing full well how to identify mindbody symptoms and stop them from persisting. I’ve also helped dozens of clients overcome their symptoms as a Coach and Trainer, and I teach a certified Practitioner Course to train new coaches in the field.
