TMS Coaching FAQs

1) How will the TMS Accountability Package help me?

The approach I teach you in the Package is based on the principles of Pain Neuroscience. This involves education on how chronic pain is triggered and manifested in the body, and lessons on changing your perception of pain as well as reducing your fear around movement and exercise.

By working with Neuroscience, you can change the way your brain responds to pain, and therefore deactivate those pain pathways that have conditioned your body to produce symptoms.

Besides Neuroscience principles, I also focus on self-awareness techniques to help you uncover why you may be suffering from chronic pain symptoms and make you aware of the habits and mindsets that are keeping pain alive.

2) Who is the Package for?

You will benefit the most if:

1) you’ve had the same symptom or symptoms for over 4 months, and have excluded serious underlying conditions like cancer, infection, or rheumatoid arthritis.

2) you’ve tried various other treatments without lasting success.

3) you know that your thoughts, anxiety and stress levels have something to do with your pain, OR you are ready to accept this.

4) previous knowledge of the TMS (Tension Myositis Syndrome) approach will help give you an edge. I suggest reading a TMS Book before or during the 6 week package.

3) Will there be other people joining us?

No. I believe that clients benefit the most if they can discuss things in privacy with a coach. All 6 Coaching Sessions will be dedicated to you, and you alone!

4) When will the sessions be held?

We will find a suitable time that works for us both.

I have slots on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 7:00 AM and 20:00 CET. Please check my Calendar on the Coaching Page to book your first session, or email me with your preferred time.

5) How long does it take to become Pain Free?

It took me and some of my clients 5 to 6 weeks to notice significant results, although it takes some people less, while for some it’s taken longer.

Consistent action that addresses beliefs, behaviours and reactions that sabotage pain is key to recovering fast.

That’s why I feel that this Package is great - you pay upfront to keep yourself accountable for 6 weeks.

If you are taking this package while still very doubtful that it will work, then you won’t see a lot of results. Since we work with the brain, it’s vital that you send your brain the right signals. Any doubts about past injuries or conditions being still to blame for pain will impede progress. That said, I’ll do my best to strengthen your confidence and help you eliminate those doubts.

6) What if I can’t afford it?

You’ve probably spent more money on pain relief treatments and doctor visits than you’ll spend on this Package.

The question you should ask yourself if fear you can’t afford to pay for the Package is:

Would you pay if you knew 100% that it would free you from a lifetime of pain? If you knew that it will work?

I’ve made things a bit easier for you, because I will refund you if you show me you’ve completed your homework and you’re still not seeing any results. Refund can be given as from Week 3 (if you attend the sessions and complete your homework up till week 3), if you still feel this is not for you.

Reading up TMS Success Stories online will also help increase your confidence in the approach.

7) What if I still can’t afford the Package?

There will soon DIY Path to Pain Free Program available here on PainOutsidetheBox! And, you can also book a Single 1:1 Coaching session if you feel that this would be enough for you.

There are also plenty of resources to check out on TMS, which can kickstart your recovery. Read my Resources on this site, and make sure you purchase a good book on TMS (I recommend reading at least one of Sarno’s books, or Steve Ozanich’s book, The Great Pain Deception).

The TMS Wiki and forum are valuable resources where you’ll find additional material and support from fellow TMSers. My FaceBook Group will also provide you with regular inspiration.

8) What if I don’t have 30 minutes a day to spend on this?

Then this package is not for you. You need to prioritise your recovery and make time for it, especially in the first few weeks until you build new habits.

This doesn’t mean that we cannot be flexible. It’s ok to postpone a session by a week or two if life gets in the way, as long as you do all your homework before each session.

Keep in mind that as time goes by, you won’t need to spend too much time on your recovery, as certain habits will become second nature for you, and you will already have all the knowledge needed to progress or deal with any flare-ups that surface later on.
